Big Rock Hub in Kingston, Milton Keynes is now back open following an extensive refurbishment programme during the last 3 weeks and it’s looking better than ever!

It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly 9 years since the original Big Rock centre first opened, and in that time many thousands of climbers have passed through our doors to enjoy our climbing. During our years of operation, we have always done our best to keep up to date with the latest trends within the indoor climbing industry and the centre has seen numerous developments over the years, including not only adding to and improving the climbing areas, but also upgrading the ancillary facilities to ensure that Big Rock is not only a great place to climb, but also a great place to be.

Our current refurbishment programme has seen further upgrades to the ancillary facilities, the installation of new lighting throughout the building, a complete re-paint of all climbing surfaces to improve the aesthetic of the centre… and more. Additionally, since it was necessary to remove all climbing holds during the refurbishment process to allow for painting, all routes and boulders have been reset throughout the climbing areas.

The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy at Hub, with all our staff working exceptionally hard to enable renovation works to complete within our allocated 3 week closure period. Without their hard work, the realization of the project simply would not have been possible and our thanks go out to everyone who has been involved with the refurbishment.

The centre re-opened on Sunday 19th May and if you’re local to Milton Keynes, or just passing through, we hope that you will drop in for a climb. We’ll be updating our website very soon with a new Google Tour and fresh images so you can check out the results for yourself from the comfort of your sofa.

All the best from the Big Rock Team!
