This summer, the French branch of Icon Software is seeking an intern developer to join our small, dynamic team based at the foot of Mont-Blanc in the Chamonix valley. This is a flexible part-time role, working 28 hours per week, so you can make the most of living in the mountains.
Icon Software develops bespoke desktop, mobile and web applications. Founded in 2009 and initially providing software to the oil and gas sector, Icon has since diversified into a range of markets including agriculture, online training courses and business intelligence applications. Our systems are used twenty-four hours a day by multinational oil companies, air traffic controllers, weather forecasters, mariners, farmers and scientists. They enable safe helicopter landings on hundreds of oil rigs around the world, prevent vessels colliding at sea, track antibiotic use throughout the UK farming industry and even guide self-driving robots through hospitals!
We are based in a friendly co-working office in Les Houches, full of people who love the mountains: climbers, skiers, cyclists and trail runners.
You will be helping to build a Windows desktop application to help analyse sea ice data. The software will be written in C# and will take the form of a plugin for ArcGIS. You should have some experience programming in C#. Experience with ArcGIS is advantageous but not essential.
You will be working 28 hours per week. Hours are usually flexible so you can make the most of good weather days for climbing.
