We are holding 3 one week sports climbing courses suitable for the beginner/intermediate climber and those wishing to progress from indoor to outdoor sports climbing.
The beautiful island of Kalymnos has perfect limestone with 2000+ routes, of all grades, which are very well bolted and coupled with perfect sunny weather, it is the epitome of the sports climbers playground and in our opinion the best venue on the planet to begin your sports climbing career or further hone your existing skills.
The course is based in Massouri village and we stay in the Evangelia apartments, a short walk away from the main crags.
The resort boasts a lovely beach with stunning views of Telendos together with a host of friendly tavernas, restaurants and cafes for the après climb beer!
All courses are staffed by qualified, empathic British guides/instructors who know the island and routes exceptionally well.
The course covers:
*Dynamic and top rope belaying skills using a variety of plates and grigri’s
*Using the guidebook, interpretation of diagrams
*Threading the top lower off anchor safely and correctly
*Movement coaching and personal skills
*Learning to lead
*Placing and clipping quick draws correctly
*How to protect yourself while being lowered
*New route day, learn how to clean and prepare a new climb
* Learn how and where to place bolts and name our new route
* “Headology” a look at the psychology involved in climbing, a subject rarely explored on courses
COURSE DATES: 4/9/13 – 11/9/13, 11/9/13 – 18/9/13, 18/9/13 – 25/9/13
COURSE COST: £565.00 per person fully inclusive of 7 nights’ accommodation, 6 full days climbing, all ropes and quick draws, transport to the crags, instruction by British guides/instructors, arrival pick up from Pothia port.
