I have for sale two old climbing tools:

  1. Chouinard Alpine Hammer I believe from somewhere between 1968/1970 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123174283897
  2. Stubai crag hammer-type-thing from likely around the same period https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123174282292

Thought I'd post here in case there are any lurking collectors.

Happy to also have comments from anyone who has more info on what these things are too! The latter looks to be for placing/removing pegs, and the former somewhere between that and an ice-axe.

In reply to PM:

Both peg hammers, also used mine today but for knocking in tent pegs, over the years it's had more use then my other hammers, roofing, camping and not forgetting climbing.

In reply to PM: The Chouinard hammer became the VERY expensive Black Diamond Yosemite Hammer

In reply to leon 1: Very interesting! Thanks for the info, both.

In terms of shape the modern hammer looks more like the Stubai one than the Chouinard.
