The below is not currently true! I am taking a sabbatical from climbing to concentrate on cycling and parenting.

I'm currently looking for regular climbing partners. So if you are too please read on.

Since the summer will soon be over, I'm looking forward, as are most of us, to a better one next year. But the cooler months will no doubt bring superb sea cliff climbing opportunities, so if anyone wants a weekend at Gogarth etc I'm up for it. I'd also like to bag Corronation Street this Autumn.
Also looking for people to talk to & climb with down the Nottingham Wall

I've been climbing for 17 years alpine/scottish winter/but predominantly rock. But I've hardly climbed at all in the last 4 years whilst I was broke undergoing a career change. Now I'm fully motivated and ready to regain my form. At the moment I'm weak and can probably lead any HVS without too much bother. I guess a year, with a winter down the wall, will make a huge difference.

I'm quite happy seconding E1/E2 or mentoring those a little below my current standard. But I'm afraid you youngsters will find me a bit insufferable! Having said that I'm still a big kid so that's a bit wierd.

I love the wild, well as wild as the UK gets. Mountain routes in Wales, Lakes and (to a lesser extent unfortunately due to distance) Scotland. The Peak is great but multipitch in great surroundings with long walk-ins is where I like to be. I'm totally up for any wierd climbing/hillyomp itineraries.

I prefer to camp or bivvy with as little fuss as possible and positively abhor campsites. I'm not a big drinker but I'm quite happy to visit, though at most I'll have a lightweight half, at least the no smoking law makes it quite pleasant now.

Climbers Caffs on the other hand are the dogs danglies. And these must be utilised in the evening when possible. I don't do big breakfasts though they interfere with the task in hand. Quick bit of fodder in the morning, then hit the crag.

Ideal trips might be a day soloing around the pass and encorporate the snowdon horseshoe or be a whole weekend camped up below Mickledore (Scafell), knocking off classic routes in good style. The usual staple I find is to drive to bivvy spot on Friday night, bivvy, walk-in, climb, caff/chips, optional pub and repeat.

Okay so that gives an honest description of me and my take on climbing. If you think you want to share some of that, then please get in touch.

Available to climb all weekends this summer, I find it best to be very flexible at the last minute so as to avoid weekends that look to be a guaranteed washout. However a shower dodging (in more ways than one :-) trip usually turns out worthwhile.

I was the author of www.hotpud.com (The UK Routes Database). But the might of UKC has prevailed. Anyhow life's too short and potential projects sit in every crozzly pocket :-)

Brings a tear to my eye...
