Hi I'm Colin,
I'm 66 (2023), reasonably fit, and currently lead around VS 4c. I love big multi-pitches and sea cliffs but prefer short(ish) walk-ins. I've been climbing for over 50 years. I have RCI (SPA) and ML awards as well as MCI training, I also have Scout Association authorisation. I'm retired with loads of time available. I have plenty of gear and my own transport.
In 2023 I've climbed in Spain, Devon, South Wales, North Wales, the Lake District and the Peak District. The hardest I've led this year is VS 5a and the hardest I've fallen off whilst top roping is E2 5b. I enjoy helping beginners/improvers as well as climbing for myself. If the trip is interesting I'm happy to second all week and will never fight for the 'best pitch.' I have no insurance for paid instruction but recently took two Chinese students out in Borrowdale. In three days they went from never having climbed outside to leading/seconding a 30m Diff and abseiling back down while I watched from below. The fact that we all enjoyed the experience was payment enough, but they did pay for the Airbnb!
