Chris the Tall RIP

Married, climbing for over 30 years, mostly on peak grit, mostly in the VS-E2 range.
Tall, a bit too heavy and completely lacking in upper body strength.
Can occasionally be found soloing the classics on Stanage and Burbage, but have recently gone the way of many middle-aged men and got a bit too keen on cycling.
Formerly Peak area rep on the BMC National Council.

UKC Note - Sadly Chris was killed in a snorkelling accident in the Costa Blanca in November 2018. He was a prolific and much-loved contributor to the UKC community and will be sadly missed. We are leaving this profile here in memory of Chris.

Best Climbing Experience
Had some brilliant trips to the Dolomites, Kalymnos and Val Di Mello in recent years. Still buzzing from a route called Self-contol in Mello - perfect slab climbing in an awesome location

Favourite Climbing-Related Discussion Topic
Climbing in sunny places abroad.
Hearing about routes which require a long reach.

About My Photography
I just point and shot, though not necessarily in that order. Been using a Canon Ixus for the last few years, and just bought a new one, though don't expect any dramatic improvements.
