I'm a retired engineer, married, with a daughter at university. I got in to hill walking and scrambling at University (UMIST) with the hiking club there and climbing soon after leaving.I've don't have the nerve or physical ability to ever be a good climber but I enjoy being out in the mountains bumbliing about on the easier stuff.

Best Climbing Experience
Summer on Tower Ridge with two good friends many years ago. Baking hot, cloudless day. Our first big mountain route and we made all the classic mistakes like turning left too early for the Eastern Traverse along a tiny ledge (how we laughed when we saw the huge wide and correct path!). Brilliant.
Since done it in winter 2007 - another brilliant day but it was with an instructor so it would be good to go back and do it 'properly'!
