I've recently got back into climbing after a lay-off of about 18 years. During that time I have got older & fatter (one reason for getting back to climbing), sailed about 10,000 miles and finished a PhD. I like multi pitch rock climbs in the easier grades but my idea of what 'easier grades' means is probably a bit old fashioned.....

Best Climbing Experience
Swastika on the Etive Slabs back in the days when it was 'only' Scottish VS and you were still allowed to pull on the handy metal things some nice person had hammered into the headwall pitch. Friends hadn't been invented yet then either. Nor sticky rubber shoes. Ah, happy days. Young climbers nowadays etc etc

Interests Outside Climbing
Food, drink, larfing. Motorcycling. Quite interested in my work too but not as obsessed by it as some of my colleagues.
