Recently Retired Snr Practitioner in field of Psychiatry.
Always interested in people and Psycho-social sciences.
As well as Geography and 'The Great Outdoors' , which lead me to look
to travel and walking in the countryside and eventually to Climbing.
In between doing many other sports and chatting over them in the Pub ,
I got to know a great guy who had done some coursework at Plas Y Brenin.
All this and the enthusiasm to climb fired us up. From there we took to
going to North Wales as often as we could, getting into the mountains
scrambling, mountaineering and rock climbing.
In between my Work and Training in Hospitals etc we spent a lot of time
going to Snowdonia to climb. As young men we were really fortunate to
meet on a regular basis some of the great names in climbing; Joe Brown,
Don Whillans, Mo Anthoine, Chris Bonnington the odd time, and a few others,
late on in that great Pub 'The Padarn' in Llanberis. They were truly great
times and this spurned us on to do more Rock Climbing and Mountaineering
From Rock Climbing in Pex Hill to most of the Lancashire quarries,
Nth Wales Limestone and Snowdonia, the Lake District, Peak District,
Yorkshire, Pembrokeshire, Dorset, Scotland and in recent years Spain.
We also tried our hand in the Swiss Alps, training on the West Flank
of the Eiger, though our travels always took us back to Snowdonia.
We continue to climb and vary our Trad' Climbing with 'Bouldering',
'Sports Climbing' and the odd indoor wall. Apart from my
Professional work, Climbing has been one of my great passions.

Anything Else We Should Know
I have always tried to keep to a reasonable weight and fitness, though this can be a bit of a challenge after the odd beer.I have always played lots of sports including Tennis, running, weightlifting, cycling and golf and this has certainly been beneficial. I continue with lots of walking and cycling as well as my climbing.
