Started climbing in Penwith, which involved being laughed at as I failed to second vs. Decided to take it a bit more seriously after a trip around south-America, failed attempts at many big mountains and deciding that rock climbing was a much easier, safer and quicker hit. Got inspired by Stevie Haston's 2000 pull ups a day, (I managed about 200) but still couldn't get up 6b. Lived all over the world, Blueys best for climbing, Thailand for hanging out, Japan for watching the impossible daily. Lived in Leeds for 4 years, got beaten up on grit, polished off at Malham and escaped to the CH where I get to clip bolts and never have to jam...

Best Climbing Experience
Climbing Loop the Loop at Shipley Upper in a thunderstorm. My first 7b and I was so into the moment I have no memory of the crux section and didn't even realise it was raining until a drop hit me in the face as I went to clip the last draw.
