Best Climbing Experience
First winter ascent of pain pillar , Hawkcraig. The events unveiled as follows:
it was the morning before Christmas and as i got out of bed i looked through the window and sprung with happynes at the view of all the snow that fell during the night, it almost fully covered the grass! so i decided today was the day i would send pain pillar. soon after sharpening my crampons i phoned woodsy whom was most enthusiastic to hear today was the day. We both worked the route on top rope for a couple of hours to make sure we could climb it on lead. temperatures must have been around 1C but it was not a problem as we were well equipped. we topped out 4 hours later with a huge smile and then headed to the pub to share the news with the locals . what a day!!
