Started climbing in 1964 at Uni at Avon Gorge for 3 years; Re-started in 1981 for 5 years based in Denver, learnt to climb; bouldered at Morrisons on Wednesday evenings and climbed for one full day most weekends, at Eldorado or on South Platte granite, plus occasional trips further away. Moved to Tunbridge Wells in 1986 to southern sandstone too far away from proper climbing. In last 12 years made many week trips to Catalunya which is almost as good as Colorado for 200m -400 m routes on conglomerate and limestone.

Best Climbing Experience
The last route I have climbed: the feeling of lightness and fluidity, and sureness of success, after too many attempts feeling heavy and useless. The body and mind is a continual surprise.
Succeeding on La Murciana at Riglos; Choras Piengue at Pedraforca; Lucky Streaks
Red pointing First Crack, Adder and Sossblitz on Southern Sandstone
