Just been for a look round Egerton quarry today. Some great looking routes.

However, I noticed the bridge has been filled in!

Anybody know anything about this?

If its any consolation, I had a similar experience earlier this summer. I went there on a wet day hoping to try Broken Jokes 7B under the bridge but got there and after ages searching for it, eventually concluding that it had been bricked up a few years back! I reported this and the crag routes/ bouldering pages have now been updated to alert ppl. If this link works, it is mentioned on page 3 of the Lancs roundup, which is hosted on the Lancashire Rock Revival FB group.  file:///C:/Users/ted_k/Downloads/ReviewofLancsClimbing_V2.1.pdf

Thanks for the link. Does anyone know the reason for the bricking up? I leaned over the bridge and there was a construction fence in the Blackburn side field. Maybe building houses?

I expect that is the reason for the Council's decision. New houses can't have weird quarried arches nearby when a simple walling up operation could be done
