Heyup,

I know that Gorgmenghast has traditionally been a nesting site, but there no longer seems to be a restriction in place: https://www.frcc.co.uk/bird-restrictions/

I also read from 2017 that the peregrines disappeared: http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/lakeland-bird...

Anyone able to add any more and/or confirm that there's not an active restriction?

Many thanks in advance.
C

In reply to C Witter:

No comment on restriction,  check the BMC Rad for best info.

No sign of any in situ nesting during Sept ascent.  Memorable route (original 5a move left and up is very bold!).

In reply to Sandstone Stickman:

Thanks. There's nowt on the BMC RAD. I've a feeling the nest has been abandoned, though perhaps a new pair might nest there.

In reply to C Witter:

There is no restriction on Heron, the nest site hasn't been used for several years. If you go and do find birds please beat an orderly retreat and let me Rob Dyer (BMC) know so we can update records. Peregrine's haven't been doing so well in the last few seasons and we need to give them the best chance of success.

Thanks Trevor - will do as you suggest!
