Went to Pindale yesterday for the first time and it was a decent spot until about 30 people in 4x4s and on quadbikes turned up for a BBQ!

Anyway, quite a few of the hangars on the first bolts were missing, the bolt and nuts were still there intact but no hangars, had a look online and couldn't find anything to say they'd been removed to stop climbing and we did 2 of said routes after clip sticking the 2nd(now the first) bolt and although one anchor was a bit rusty I wouldn't of deemed it unsafe. So just wondering if anyone knows a reason or if they've just been pinched?

No idea. Did you notice the EPN bolt sleeves on the arete? I had never seen them before. Strange concept that. Also some at Intake quarry. Odd.

The ones at Intake are on a line first climbed by Mark Edwards (or so I was told). I think Bill Birch was involved too.

I didn’t notice the ones when I climbed the Pindale arete, but I suspect Bill Birch will have had a hand in those too.

Sadly, he’s no longer around to ask...
