Just a little appreciation post.

Had my first visit to  Back Bowden Doors on Sunday.

Blue sky, crisp conditions and lots of psyched and friendly climbers out A fantastic day was had by all and the beautiful sunset on the walk out really was the cherry on top.

The perfect antidote to the worlds craziness at the moment. I hope some of you managed to enjoy the good weather and get outside.

Yes. Whether doing big hill days on crisp neve, winter climbing, sunny trad or bouldering, days like that are hard to beat. Time of year innit

Back Bowden is a great crag! That was one of my local crags when I started climbing nearly 50 years ago. If I'm not mistaken the first recorded 'extreme' in Northumberland was The Witch (E2 5b) although of course there were plenty already, going under the guise of VS and HVS. When I first went there as a teenager I remember being amazed that the great Alan Austin had even put up new routes there a few years before.

We looked at the piece of rock where Transcendence (E8 6c) goes and thought ' no one will ever climb that!' How wrong we were!
