My mate and I were exploring the coast around chair ladder yesterday, specifically we were scrambling around the west side of gwennap head and wanted to find a way to stand at the bottom of the big hole in the ground at the top of the coast path. Anyway, we ended up swimming into the cave/opening at the bottom of it, and now we're wondering if the north face of the cave is climbable/has been climbed?

There is nothing recorded in the West Cornwall vol 2 climbing guide, but I'm fairly sure we spotted an old rusty piton about 1/3 of the way up. Besides, it looks pretty climbable from the ground and we want to have a crack at it!

I'm asking here in case anyone has any info on whether it's been climbed, whether its safe, if there are restrictions for wildlife specifically in that cave that I may not know about?

Any help is much appreciated, cheers!
