Some crags do, some crags don't?

Occasionally I look crags up on my phone and recently I've found some venues require you to be logged in and some don't.  I don't understand the logic of requiring people to log in to see basic crag data and I definitely don't see the logic in having a split approach.

Could someone explain?

Some crags need a lot of luvvin

And some crags don't

The crags where there is an access problem require that you log in. This is because we get crags with access problems showing up in Google searches and when they are looked at the only thing displayed is the banned access information and not a long list of routes with logged ascents.

Ok - that's sane and makes sense - thanks!
