Please use this thread to post moderating requests, problem crags and suggestions. If you do post about a crag then please use the Logbooks 'Insert crag link...' box above the reply box so that a link is included which makes things lot easier to sort than if just a crag name is written.
If you moderate a crag but find yourself ignoring the update emails, or you have lost interest, or you have moved away then please could you remove yourself as moderator using the button at the base of the crag moderation page. Then reply to this thread with 'Crag Available' and the crag link inserted so that someone else can volunteer.
If you would like to moderate a crag, and feel you could do a better job than the current moderator, then reply to this thread with 'Crag Requested', the crag name and link so that we can arrange a switch if appropriate. We can now add second moderators to crags as well.
Thanks for everyone's help with UKC Logbook moderating. We are aware that this is sometimes a tiresome task and all your efforts are appreciated.
The previous UKC Moderator threads have got too big and has now been locked. Here they are for reference
If you add me to Siurana ill sort El pati and surrounding area out as some outdated grades etc.
The peeps moderating Siurana seem to have given up.
Could you delete https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/dragonera-28589/#overview please? It will be superseded by https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/mpougazi-29642/#mpougazi as dragonera is a buttress that's part of the larger area.
Im gonna fill in the buttresses etc. for Mpougazi once the crags been approved.
Could you delete the following crags? They've all been merged in to larger crags. Thanks!
When moderating crags with UKC in Night Mode, the Buttress names are almost the same colour as their background, which makes them very hard to read - is it possible to tweak the colour?
There is a glitch in the logbook stats.
A "beefy Bert" sent me an update request for Blurred Lines (7c)
It is coming up as a trad route in his logbook but what I think he means is it is showing as his hardest (trad, clean with beta) in his "stats".
I understand this is a problem because my own "stats" show Daylight Robbery as my hardest trad on-site. Both routes are obviously labeled "sport".
An odd request perhaps. Could we have a new rock type added, please? Molasse.
It niggles me that Buoux is categorised as limestone, when it really very much isn't. The rock is a mixture of sandstone (sandy deposits) and normally-deposited limestone (from marine life), and climbs much more like sandstone than limestone, at least in my experience.
Is this to micro-niche?
Just looking at the changes at Wildcat reminded me of something I noticed the other day but that probably isn't worth it's own thread...
On the main page for a crag you get the following in the key:
? Climbs can't be verified by a crag moderator, and they need more information to confirm it.
But if you click on any of the climbs you get the following message with a different symbol:
† This climb cannot be verified, and the crag moderator needs more information.
Should the symbols and text be the same?
"Climbs are no longer climbable." to me this would be a fallen down route or one affected by rockfall. Personally I think there should there be separate category for climbs where access is not allowed as this is different to the former, or the text should be amended to reflect both categories.
Hiya. Can you please add me to Trowbarrow:
I emailed the moderator last year but didn’t get a response. The ‘chossy area left of Yellow Wall’ actually has some good climbing and needs updating and there are a couple of additions needed from the current comprehensive guide.
> As crag moderator, is there a way to move people's logbook ascents from one climb to another?
If you're deleting a climb it offers you the option of moving logged ascents to another climb. Other than that I don't think there's a way (short of Paul et al doing it).
Cheers have done. Rachel Pearce was one of the mods and she’s on here a lot so reckon she’ll let me know fairly soon (and guessing she is back in the UK now and thus not especially fussed about mod privileges here in Greece!)
BTW I’ve removed myself from moderator at Chulilla - did a fair bit of tidying up when I was there in November but I’ve no plans to go back any time soon so didn’t seem make sense to keep myself as listed for that. Having said that, Chulilla really needs breaking down into different pages for different crags. The current page covers hundreds and hundreds of climbs at present and is pretty unwieldy!
Whilst I’m waiting on a handover for Leonidio, could you do me a favour and upgrade Amiral (6c) to 6c? That’s what it is in the new guide (and I climbed to and can confirm!), as my girlfriend led it today as her first outdoor 6c redpoint and she really wants to have it in her logbook
> Crag requested Carrock Fell Crag
It looks like there's already a couple of mods on there, and at a glance it seems in fairly good order. Might be worth messaging the existing mods and if it's some smaller changes they could tweak it, or if it's larger changes they can hang up their moderating boots for the crag so you can take over.
Hi, I was a Carrock Fell moderator until the last month or so - I don’t really understand how I lost moderator status. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few years tidying up the logbook and am responsible for it being in good order - it was a bit of a mess before and have had lots of positive comments locally. I climb there regularly, live locally and I would like to continue to keep on top of it.
Would it be possible to do a group change of the order of the climbs at Denham Quarry. Currently they appear to be listed from Right to Left rather than Left to Right as per the latest rockfax or BMC Lancashire guide.
I thought you used to be able to change the order of a crag by number but it now seems to be a locked.

I'll have a look at this later, it'll be a bit of a job as I haven't been to the crag in ages and want to make sure I don't mess it up.
Might be worth dropping Paul a message about the number ordering. Seems to still be working for me.

happy to swap them round manually if required if added as a 2nd mod if you can't do a group change.
I've added you to Malibu but not Stoney point as that's already got two mods. You could try getting in touch with one of the existing mods and see if they'd be happy for you to take over.
> Crag Requested
> Hi, I would like to add some winter climbs and mountain summits in the Lofoten Islands, Norway please.
Is there a particular crag or crags you want to add the climbs too? I'm not sure how adding summits works so I'll wait for one of the UKC bods to drop by.
If it's an existing crag you want to add the summit to, please using the Add Missing Climb button in the bottom right and select Special - Summit for the grade.
If crag doesn't exist in the database please use this page: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/addcrag.php?hill=1
Hi Paul -
This looks like a spurious entry:
Both climbs already covered at Pinnacle.
The gallery pic belongs on Warton Small, the seaside shots are just vaguely local.
Also this bit of text on crags with single moderators:
"Moderators Updates to this page are checked bya UKC volunteer"
bya is not a word
How to correct the grade of a climb listed on a crag overview page? When I click through to the climb it is graded correctly E5 (I just updated it) but it remains incorrect (E3) on the overview page.
And will someone claim offence for the word sh*t in a route name?! (I won't!)
Crag Requested: Dow Crag
Accidently stumbled across the boulders up at Dow Crag in County Durham, I would love to add a few of the other boulders there and some new routes.

No probs, added you in.
