Please use this thread to post moderating requests, problem crags and suggestions. If you do post about a crag then please use the Logbooks 'Insert crag link...' box above the reply box so that a link is included which makes things lot easier to sort than if just a crag name is written.
Existing Moderators
If you moderate a crag but find yourself ignoring the update emails, or you have lost interest, or you have moved away then please could you remove yourself as moderator using the button at the base of the crag moderation page. Then reply to this thread with 'Crag Available' and the crag link inserted so that someone else can volunteer.
New Moderators
If you would like to moderate a crag, and feel you could do a better job than the current moderator, then reply to this thread with 'Crag Requested', the crag name and link so that we can arrange a switch if appropriate. We can now add second moderators to crags as well.
Thanks for everyone's help with UKC Logbook moderating. We are aware that this is sometimes a tiresome task and all your efforts are appreciated.
The previous UKC Moderator threads have got too big and has now been locked. Here they are for reference
mod'ing Grand Ledge in Michigan USA
can't seem to select Top Rope and get the grading drop down to work?
If i select TR then the grade drop down only offers the option "grade"
several climbs are currently listed as sport but grand Ledge is TR only due to soft sandstone

Sorry this is a bit outside of my expertise, maybe worth dropping the UKC bods an email.
thanks anyway.
I have had a test with that crag and I'm able to set it as top rope, and set the grades all okay
Can you be more specific about where the issue is happening, and what browser etc?
No probs, all sorted.

The following two routes need merging. Seemed quite a good route to me, not sure why it doesn't get any stars in rockfax, is 2 in YMC which seems fair and matches the votes. 3 stars as per the other logbook entry is probably a bit much but then again if compared to Noonday Ridge I thought it was better.

Not sure if this is the best place for this but could Artificial crags have a different colour on the logbook maps and/or a logbook option to hide them on the maps/searches as there seems to be an increasing number of urban building crags some of which are pretty pointless which show up when using the find a crag functions
There are plenty of examples if you look at the maps, but this is one of the worst that came up recently
So if crag is classified as artificial it shouldn't appear when searching for trad or bouldering under discipline for example. But should be searchable under a new category called Artificial.
I have the same issue with Malibu Creek, tried both Edge and Chrome. When I select TR the Grade drop down menu doesn't have any options available.

I've merged those two together. I deleted the one that wasn't in rockfax and transferred the tricks over, dont think I can update the stars on the rockfax one unfortunately.
The weather forecast never gets below 0C for the day but much lower for the hour.

It looks like there's a couple of mods on there already so I can't add you without removing one of them. Would you mind messaging them to see if they'd be happy to swap?
Yeah no worries, I’ve messaged them both. I was removed recently as moderator for this crag after spending the last few years tidying it up. No one messaged me to ask to swap - was there a reason I was removed?
Thanks, Duncan

Whoops! That was probably me, sorry! Thanks for your work tidying it up.

Hi Remus, I tried to email this with the contact form but kept getting a server error so apologies if you've already received the message!
Badger Rock is both it's own crag: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/badger_rock-3825/ and a buttress on Kentmere Boulders: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/kentmere_boulders-1784/ . Some Badger Rock problems are on one crag OR the other and some are on both (it's a bit of a mess).
Can you moving the Badger Rock buttress at Kentmere to a seperate buttress on Badger Rock? I raised doing this with Paul a couple of years ago and he suggested doing it this way as there is a BMC RAD entry for Badger Rock, but I never followed up on it at the time.
If you add me as a second mod for badger rock I will merge the obvious duplicates I can find.
Cheers,
Dale

Can I be made second mod, current mod happy for someone based more locally to help out
Cheers
I got those emails so it must be erroring out after they're sent.
I've moved everything under 'badger rock' buttress in the kentmere boulders to the badger rock crag and made you second mod. Thanks in advance for tidying it up.

No probs, added you as second mod. Thanks for your help!
Can I please get added as a second mod to Sheep Pass
It is missing a lot of problems and I am in Joshua Tree now so can clean it up.
Not sure if it's something you can do, but can you stop the dry tooling crag Leacanashie Woods Crag - Lochcarron from appearing on the winter conditions page.

One for the UKC bods I think. Im not sure how crags are selected to go on to the winter conditions page, there's not an obvious flag at the crag level that I can see. Might just be whether there's mixed/dry tooling routes at the crag, in which case I guess it'd need some code changes?
currently not working using Chrome on a PC

I think the grades of the routes need changed from M to D.
Got to the bottom of this. Somehow `top-rope` snuck into the grade drop down. the way to signify it is a top rope route is to select that symbol slightly lower down on the page.
Sorry for the confusion
> I think the grades of the routes need changed from M to D.
Good knowledge, I've changed all the routes over to D grades, hopefully that'll do the trick.
Can I be added to Ousel's Nest as a mod please? Keen to sort out the trad routes a bit.
Looks like there's a couple of mods on there already, could you drop them an email to see if they're happy to swap?
I've dropped them a line to see if they're happy for me to take over temporarily.
Can I be added as second moderator for gandia please ,
Crag Requested
Gandia : https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/gandia-1706/
It looks like there's been some permissions changes on on the backend so I can't add second mods at the mo. I've emailed the UKC bods, but in the meantime it'll have to wait.
No problems Mr Remus 🙂
the following summer scramble: Crib Lem Spur (Llech Ddu Spur) (Grade-1) the winter version is on a different crag: Crib Lem (II 2)
I don't know the area well enough to know if other routes need moving but this certainly does.

Paul sorted the permissions issue (thanks!) so I've sorted this one for you.
I haven't had a response from either mod so I don't know what the next step is in this scenario!
> I haven't had a response from either mod so I don't know what the next step is in this scenario!
Thanks for trying. I've made you second mod for the mo, might have to switch you back out fi the previous mod gets in touch.
Cheers Remus; its a bit more shipshape now.
Hi Remus, I sent you an email last Tuesday and I was wondering if it came through ok? Thanks.
Crag available, I moved away fromChampfromier in Ain, France years ago, so open to someone else.
This summer route has a winter grade here.

Sorry, been busy with work the last few weeks, I've seen your emails though and will get to it.
No worries, no rush just wanted to make sure the message had got through!
