Hi all,

Hopefully just a quick one,

For lighthouse arete can the abseil in be made on a 50 m rope when accounting for rope stretch or is a 60 m rope a must?

I've got down to sea level on a 50m, with about 3 or 4 m to spare.

Just don't let go of the ab rope after getting there as I watched a party of 3 do once.

I retrieved it for them after I'd stopped laughing.

From what I can remember you can extend the abb a fair bit (short rigging rope). Might give a meter or two extra to play with.

As I recall the ledge is sloping, with the lowest and most tidal bit being directly below the ab point, aim left (facing out) to get to the highest point of the ledge then scramble down to the route

You ab straight on to the ledge for Lighthouse, no scrambling required. You swing left a few metres from the line of the ab that’s all.
