I'm trying to find the names of some famous chalk free climbers, people who climb hard but treat their hands like a naturist treats their extremities.

Well I climb without chalk, but I don't climb hard. Having said that I don't think I treat my hands like a naturist treats their extremities!

One of climbing partners climbs without chalk as his hands never get sweaty. I carry chalk but try not to use it as i have realised that i mostly used it as a psychological aid.

I've free-climbed on chalk if that's what you mean

I think Steve is probably the only member now

including the late Arni Strapcans.

In reply to alan moore: Hardly...it was being used regularly from the mid 70's, though granted it was mostly those operating round XS - plenty of trips to Boots for the box of light magnesium
