Does anyone know if Creag Ghlas can be accessed via vehicle up the estate track? Gary Latter suggests it is possible with 4WD "if the gate is open". I'm just wondering what determines if it will be open: stalking/randomness?

I guessing a wise idea would be to take bikes in any case?

Definitely. It's an easy cycle; quite flat and well-surfaced as I recall. The gate was open when I was last up there and I think any car would have handled the track okay, but we chose not to test the access situation or risk being locked in.

Thanks Alan and Jamie, I'd seen your blog post and I remembered this apparent gem hidden up there. If we are treated with cold and dry conditions this weekend myself and a friend might give it a go. Will definitely take the bikes and just go with the cycle in I think.
