I was just wondering what the gear is above avalanche wall and slab and crack?

Going for a spot of shunting and don't fancy having to take my entire rack. Are there any useful big boulders?

Thank you!

In reply to Franco Cookson: Ive seen people shunting S&C so yeah. I think it is a large tor (rather than a boulder) that you can wrap the rope down.

In reply to Stig: Round not down.
In reply to Stig: Excellent, thanks a lot!

If anyone can confirm this to a greater degree of certainty that would be even better.

cheers though.

Hi Franco

A single set of nuts and rockcentrics/ hexes and a 16 ft sling should do nicely.

Pad the edge with a rucksack or some old wooden wedges.

regards Rick

Come on Rick, "some old wooden wedges"!!
He already said "don't fancy having to take my entire rack". It is 5 minutes from the road.
Anyway, shouldn't you be tucked up with Bob??

IIRC I used to top-rope Dolittle from cams #2 and #3 some way back, with a static line to the edge.
In reply to john arran: thanks!

I found Avalanche Wall pretty straight forward to be honest Franco. Not really sure its worth headpointing...
In reply to Jonny2vests: better to be safe than sorry.

In reply to Franco Cookson: hi would be interested to know how the old wooden wedges are actually used and where they can be obtained.
