In reply to Ander: Yes, I had gold travel insurance with cover for mountaineering (obviously includes rock climbing). The claim I tried to make, for an allergic reaction, was rejected (it cost me $300 in private medical treatment but obviously could have been much higher). They had some 'small print' that excluded this. I also found out after my trip they had exclusion from any claims if I deliberately put myself in danger. Mountaineering/danger...HELLO!!! I'd go somewhere else, the BMC maybe. I only went with STA because I needed 4 1/2 months cover, and the BMC would only cover 3 months.
