In reply to Frank the Husky: He may have got it wrong pushing in to Russia but he was damn right about Lancashire crags..
In reply to Clauso: Oh, nice! Good old Mick etc.
In reply to Frank the Husky: Although Mick's Hitler Parody thread has now vanished. Anyone (i.e. Mick) know why? Did some arse complain?

In reply to Frank the Husky:

It wouldn't surprise me, in the slightest, if somebody had objected to the thread on the basis that it was disrespectful to Nazis...

P.S. I've recently returned my copy of Over the Moors to the BMC. I'd assumed that it was a modern treatise on the Reconquista and, frankly Frank, I was very disappointed to learn that it was, in fact, full of details of rock climbing on obscure bits of Pennine crags.
In reply to Clauso: Yeah, sorry about that. I wanted it to be a deconstruction of the communist utopian ideal, but I was slightly outvoted. Instead you get outrageously photoshopped pictures of sunny moorland crags under blue skies that look clean and have smiling climbers in them. Another sort of utopia.

Don't you mean the National Socialist Community?

In reply to Frank the Husky: These parodies never last long, I think Youtube regularly have to remove them when the film company complains. Must be one of the most parodied scenes in film history.

A couple of years ago someone did a great one immediately after it was announced that the gov body I used to work for was being abolished - it only lasted a weekend - which was a shame because only a small number of those affected got to see it.
In reply to Michael Hood: Nope, the parodoies are still there, it's the UKC news item that has vanished without trace.
