Climbed The Crossing (E2 5b) yesterday and feel compelled to post something on here about it, as it seems woefully overlooked and is absolutely brilliant. Considering how popular Heart of Darkness is I'm really surprised this doesn't seem to get more attention. I put a few notes on the logbook page. It's good solid E2 all the way, and the sketchy finishing pitch can either be avoided or protected with a pre-placed rope. Go do it!

Glad you liked it! The finishing pitch was quite worrying on the first(on sight) ascent. It was subsequently cleaned and much of the loose material removed.

Talking of Pembroke traverses has anyone tried Across the Universe (E2 5b) since the rockfall on P1, Is it still possible? P2 is still climbable and could be accessed via the under known amazing Startruck (E1 5a).

Also has anyone attempted/done/got any thoughts on Underneath the Arches (E2 5c)? It sounds pretty epic. Love to try sometime if it is a quality adventure.

Underneath the arches is superb. Best done at the end of February just before the bird ban starts because pitch 8 is very birdy and repulsive if you do it in the autumn before winter storms have cleaned it,
