Trigger Finger Treatment

Does anyone have any experience of trigger finger treatment.

Splinting clearly isn't settling it down and the next step seems to be a steroid injection into the tendon sheath - which slightly worries me given how precious we are about our finger tendons.

It's my ring finger , and when it gets stuck it can stay stuck for ages. Not good when climbing/belaying.

cheers

In reply to alikj:

I had a diagnoosis of TF in the middle of last year. Mine was only really clicky in the morning and soon eased up. Yours does sound like the real deal.

Steroids was the option given to me but I declined that offer and it has got better. I stopped climbing at walls (a good idea anyway if you want to avoid injury) and improved my core strength which takes stress off your fingers.

I got a referral to an NHS hand specialist st Stepping Hill Hospital through my GP which took a few weeks. I would go down that route for the best advice and treatment.
