Urko is such a star with infectious enthusiasm. Last time we bumped into him was at Ghost Kitchen on Kalymnos. He hung on to small holds on his 7b, pointing out hidden holds to my partner as she climbed the adjacent route. Later that trip he climbed Fun de Chichunne...!
I’ve not heard of Javier before, but he couldn’t hope for a more supportive and enthusiastic partner (though he doesn’t seem to be slowing down much on the tricky descent path in that last shot!).
Coincidentally, I was descending the rocky section from the summit of the Penon on New Year’s Day, taking great care as I’d just lost a contact lens. I was overtaken by a pair of climbers, one of whom had a prosthetic lower leg, which seemed to make little difference to his pace crossing treacherous rocky terrain - which was considerably faster than mine...
