Has anyone got any good recommendations for day tours from Geneva?

I’m looking for something away from lifts but any anything would be great to hear about.

I presume you mean from Geneva with transport, either train or car ?

If you have a car then Chamonix is little more than an hour away. You can turn off the Autoroute blanche and head into the Aravis or the Chablis ranges to South and North sides of the road. In that zone there's a lifetime of Ski touring. Alternatively if you travel along lake Geneva you can get to the Western Oberland. So you might want to specify a bit more closely what kind of tour you're looking for, and what transport options you have.

Yep, I'd love to put skis on at my door but that is not going to happen.

Thanks for your replay, I was hoping for options away from Chamonix. I'm looking for some recommendations that are a quick hit by car.

"Quick" by car in Genève is an interesting concept. 

There's a huge amount to do in the Aravis and Chablais. Les combes des Aravis are reliable and pretty accessible.

Either search on camptocamp or pop into Cactus and get a copy of http://www.olizane.ch/article.php?IDrecord=106 which covers the Haute-Savoie and Mt Blanc.

Slightly further afield the Swiss side of the massif du Mont Blanc (around Trient / Finhaut) is feasible in a day from GE and has a lot of good tours.

there's also skiing in the Jura just north of Geneva, but mostly nordic rather than alpine.

How could I forget Le Reculet - the only ski tour accessible from Genève with the TPG. In good winters it's fun but I suspect that this winter will involve carrying the skis rather a long way even if one drives up to Le Tiocan.
