Just back from a great 2 day's touring in Les Contamines. Loads to go at, all difficulties, quieter than many areas. We stayed at the Le Chemenaz hotel. Walking distance to slopes and very comfortable. The manager was a very keen ski tourer/ski mountaineer and happy to spend a long time discussing different route options for the conditions. He wants to attract more ski tourers so asked if I'd review the hotel on a forum other than tripadvisor etc. etc. So here we go - hotel very much recommended for touring; convenient for Geneva; very helpful advice when you get there; makes for a great trip.
