Hi all,

Any recommendations for Mont Blanc massif guide books? That include the standard routes up e.g. Gouter etc and also some more challenging routes for later after personal improvement?

I have been looking at:
Mont Blanc 4810m - 5 Routes to the Summit by Francois Damilano (2010)
But this is just Mont Blanc itself, I would be interested in a wider range of routes around the area

Snow Ice & Mixed Vol 1&2 by Damilano F (1 Jul 2006)
But do these books include the bog standard routes up?

Also been looking at the Alpine club books by Lindsay Griffin, have read that some of these are rather out of date?

Any advice please?

The best book by a country mile (imho) is The Mont Blanc Masiff by Gaston Rebuffat, it's one of my favorite books, ever!

Second vote for the Rebuffat book. It is a little dated now, and some of the route descriptions do need comparing with more recent guidebooks, but in terms of purely inspirational mountain porn, this book is the business.

The most up to date route information can be found in the Guide's Office in Chamonix, so you can always go there to browse and then photocopy etc.

Both these and the Damilano books have what you are looking for
