Tim Clifford from Leeds has just repeated the Buttermilker at Bishop. This desperate problem was recently repeated by another Brit, James Pearson. The problem was graded V13 by first ascensionist Chris Sharma.

'bout bloody time.

Now the question is will he complete the project on the Grandma Peabody that he started several years ago (he completed part of it called Thunderbird V11)

Matt Birch tried this project last year until he was blue in the face....Matt did the first ascent of The Swarm V14 at the Secrets Of The Beehive Area in the Buttermilk Country at the same time (that Ben Moon nearly repeated).

This Clifford project may be quite hard.

I heard that a bit of a hold broke on it too when James was working it.

Bloody impressive stuff.

"Sharma rated it V13"

Sharma didn't rate it at all. Someone else (Mick?) rated it as V12/V13.

Correct. It's part of his marketing strategy. He knows that anything he does people think it's the hardest in the world. So no need for a grade.

Not me. I rated Mandala.

having previously fallen off the 5c slab after doing all the hard stuff about 3weeks ago!

In reply to JR: I wouldnt want to fall off that slab; looks bloody high!
Serpico 06 Dec 2004
In reply to Chris Fryer:The Pasquil descents are more impressive than his ascents; for example: which move do you not want to fall off on Midnight Lightning?
 Adam Lincoln 07 Dec 2004
In reply to Serpico:

But he has less to fall that the rest of us. His arms are longer, so his feet are lower

In reply to Serpico:

he's got rid of that demon as well

That could only be true if Yorkshire was wiped off the map!

Is this what they teach in deepest Blackburn and Rochdale?

Do a history search on the War of the Roses and you may find that this isn't true!

All depends when you consider the end of the war to be.... I think you'll find that some battle somewhere was won by the Lancastrians and this resulted in the House of Tudor v1.0 being released.

Followed by (and I quote) "The third and final war was started by Richard III's seizing of the throne after the death of his elder brother Edward in 1483 and arranging the deaths of Edward's sons, the true heirs to the throne. Despite his efforts Henry Tudor won the crown at Bosworth Field in 1485, and the third war petered out over the next few years as Henry made his position secure."

Now, I have to admit to being totally uninterested in history (as borne out by my O Level results) but I was always taught that overall, the Red Rose team came out on top.
