Last week Alun Evans described how, if you have the desire, you can climb harder. A motivating tale that described how he went from leading HVS to E4 in a year.

This week, Steve Mead, who started climbing in 2002, describes preparing for an ascent of Yosemite's Nose route, 3,000ft of unforgiving El Cap granite, and then climbing it.

If you have an ambition to climb El Cap, you will find Steve's story essential reading. If you don't have any ambition to climb the Nose, you soon will have.

Nice one. I'm going out there in May so that's got me even more excited. Really looking forward to the Valley atmosphere as much as the amazing climbing.

The Nose would be amazing but whether it will get done this year I'm not too sure.
