There have been some superb conditions on the gritstone this past week. On Tuesday, ageing sport climber turned trad revivalist, Nic Sellers made a noteworthy ground-up flash (that's a no falls ascent, with a teeny weeny bit of beta AKA knowledge) of Balance It Is (E7 6c) in the Vale of Burbagia.

I was going to say the same - born 1970? Ageing?

I hope not!

I suppose I meant that he was a full-on sport climber and ticking F8cs in 1991. Tyler - c'mon, you must remember 'The Young Ones' article in OTE?

Is this some sort of dig at James?

I'm surprised Balance It Is doesn't get more attention, its a great looking line. I saw Stu Littlefair on it a few years ago.....the moves look awesome.

Nice work Nic.

ah..Ben C..we meet at last...

James climbed it ground-up with falls but without any beta. Nic has done it with beta but without falls. Different styles, neither is better or worse than the other IMHO.
