 Team BMC 08 May 2007
Development Officer (Climbing Walls)
Salary range £21,933 to £27,593 (Full-time position based on a 3 year contract)

The BMC is recruiting a specialist officer to develop our work with indoor climbing walls. This new and varied full-time post will build on our existing climbing walls related work, by developing regional projects in partnership with Sport England and promoting opportunities for new climbers to broaden their experience of climbing and to join clubs. The post holder will work closely with relevant trade organisations (ABC and CWMA) and will have an important role in promoting BMC membership to indoor climbers. He or she will support the introduction of the Climbing Wall Supervisors Award and the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme and will be responsible for producing and maintaining literature and web resources including the Climbing Wall Manual and Directory. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the BMC’s work and to help meet the needs of new and experienced climbers.

The successful applicant will need a willingness to work weekends and evenings together with a flexible approach as the BMC changes to meet challenges of increasing participation and human pressures on the climbing environment.
