NEWS: Crag AttaK, Cheddar...Cancelled

One of the most anticipated climbing events of this summer has been cancelled due to a severe weather forecast.

The Cheddar Gorge Crag AttaK which was due to take place this Sunday, 1st July, has been postponed and a new date, Sunday, 16th September has been agreed.

Goodness, what a tragedy. By the look of it Red Bull will be gutted.

Red Bull won't care, as they had nothing to do with it. Although I'm sure the Childrens Hospice will see it as more of a tradegy than yourself considering the event was organised to raise money for them.

I think the event was raised to celebrate Cheddar climbing, to raise funds for the Childrens Hospice, raise awareness of climbing in the Gorge, for the benefit of the sponsors and the host (commercial entities) and for climbers to have fun participating.

Every event these days has a charity aspect to it, a good thing, but I don't think people are blind to the other benefits, including commercial, that these events have.

I was just looking forward to a session at cheddar gorge that was purely aimed at fun and not at my projects!
