Andy Kirkpatrick and Ian Parnell failed on both their objectives in Patagonia, bad weather causing them to abandon their winter attempts on Titanic on Torre Egger and on Exocet on Cerro Stanhardt.

Kirkpatrick, now back in the UK, did however pretend last night to be a polar bear and attacked Ian Smith of Climb magazine.

In reply to Mick Ryan - UKClimbing.com: In your picture it looks like Andy has nicked my sons Fimble. I'm off to check his room now (my son's, not Andy's) to see if Britain's favourite climbing comic would do such a thing!

In reply to TobyA:

I think it was a Fimble. In true paparazzi style, I stalked him in the hotel corridor after his presentation. He was putting his kids to bed.

In reply to Toby_W:

He's just moved in opposite me In Sheffield - his kids like Cheerios it seems. Bet you wanted to know that?

Ian looks suitably terrified brandashing that spoon!!

WOW, Brilliant news item!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Britain's 'celebrity mountaineer' and Bubba fail on not one, but two objectives in Patagonia.

First a news piece telling us they are going, and now one on how the failed!

Come on, this is'nt news

In reply to Tom, UKC News Editor:

Thanks.

Surely once the piece on them going has been run then it stands that the piece on the outcome is necessary whether it's a failure or not?

For me, I was quite interested to hear that they were going to attempt a route in Patagonia in the winter.
In reply to Jon Bracey:
