John Watson is the man behind Stone Country - the book publisher and website that follows bouldering in Scotland. In this article John takes an illustrated look at what went on in Scotland in 2007, including ascents from the multi-talented Dave MacLeod, Ben Litster, Richie Betts, Mike Tweedley, Dave 'Cubby" Cuthbertson, Ian Taylor, Lawrence Hughes, Mike Lee, Tim Rankin, Colin Lambton, Dave Wheeler, Tom Charles-Edwards, Alan Cassidy, Malcolm Smith, and Niall McNair.

Some of the problems included are:

Sanction Font 8b Dumbarton
Put My New Shoes On Font 7c - Brin Rock
The Mission Torridon - Font 7b

Plus loads more.

Read it here: http://www.ukclimbing.com/articles/page.php?id=795

Still to come: Alpine 2007, Sport 2007 and another Bouldering 2007

I went to Craigmaddie this year for the first time and enjoyed the climbing.

Looks like a nice spot from the photo in the article. Is it to the south of Glasgow?

You need to watch the tides if you're ever tempted to visit Clashfaquhar - a friend was telling me he had to wade out of there last weekend, which he described as bracing.

Yes, it is north of Glasgow, not that far from my home. It was last year, 2007, not this year I went to it.

In reply to Norrie Muir: I live pretty near that area too. Where about are the boulders exactly. Would be good to go somewhere different without the drive.
