Marin (Nail Trail) - advice, please?

Hi,

After years NOT cycling (although I used to love it), my brother is thinking of getting rid of his almost unused Marin MTB ... probably with less than 100k on the clock! I'm going to borrow it from him for a few days, pending purchase. He bought it new about 4 years ago. It should be the right size, as we're a similar height.

Anyone know anything good, bad or indifferent about these bikes? What should I be offering him? ('Family' price probably out of the question!).

Any helpful comments gladly received ... I'm planning a little jaunt around Delamere to see if bike's right size / I can still MTB without falling off!

Well I guess you already know that Marin's are pretty good bikes. From my experience I would certainly recommend them - I've got one of the full sussers of that vintage.

A quick google throws up a new '05 Nail trail at £400ish but I'd hop along to the forums or classifieds at www.singletrackworld.com for a much better view.
