Two and a half days on the Brandler-Hasse in 1976...

"When John eventually started climbing, having drawn the short straw again, he turned round and threw up over Ian and I. After apologising for that he then announced that he needed a piss and 'I'm sorry lads but I know you're directly below and unable to move'. We got the full benefit of that as well."...

The full story by J Colton.

Excellent, better than anything I could have produced.

A minor correction is needed, Bonington and Clarke did it in 1960 I think, certainly not the year we did it which was 1961.

The mention of the loose 'bolts' brought a wry smile as well. We packed them with bits of cigarette packet, pushed them in as we loaded them and moved very carefully on them.

BTW, why were they wearing rembling gear, red socks and boots? The style police will be after them.

Well done on doing it as a three though.

Blimey, that all sounds a bit hardcore!
