BTW I was in Tuolomne with Colin and Dave Gregory many years ago, and climbing as a three was bit tricky. I stuck a paper plate on the notice board with "English Eccentric Seeks Parner For Classics - apply Sight No 23" (I didn't tell Dave!).
Bob (Walton) turned up, turned out they had loads in common (including writing articles). They climbed together then and many times since. Dave sent Bob (an English teacher) details about a UK (climbing) writing competition some years back - he enters most of them now.
