Sums it up. Awesome . Might silence a few of his knockers.

In reply to Enty:

Lot of very talented climbers out there Enty, and all out there doing stuff. It is very refreshing and quite exciting to witness.

Short routes, long routes, different styles, bouldering, sport, trad, the works.

....and winter and alpine.

Great effort and defo should help heal the wounds from some of the ill informed comments on here in the past month.
No matter what you think, the lad is a talented climber.

I don't think anyone really disputed that.

Did he comment on the grade by the way?

Yeh, great grit season this year. I'm not so sure the talent has increased, more the combination of 3 months of ace conditions and the American visit.

Nice one James.

Let us hope that he makes no comment on the grade. It's boring and irrelevant.

I dunno Richard. The last 12 months has seen some mighty fine ascents in the UK.

From my perch helping with the news and travelling around a bit, I sense an increase in standards - and not just the lads but women too.

The no nonsense approach of Alex Honnold and Kevion Jorgeson helped but also add in these terrific new bouldering walls (and lead ones) too which are helping to produce very strong climbers some of who are psyched and highly motivated for outdoor climbing.

Interesting, change in ethics from Pearson?

It is interesting, though understandable. From what I hear about the route and having seen the route, bouldering pads at the bottom are a very sensible choice. Any gear that you could place on this route would be once the route joins the traverse of Ferdinand, several meters above the ground.

In reply to orge: Who deleted the comedy rant between MarkT and Sam L? It was hilarious! Forum hijacking and grade/ethics weight throwing at its best.

One of Sam's friends weighed in... apparently suggesting that he seek medical help for an unfortunate mental processing condition was a step too far for the moderators... hey ho!

In reply to MarkT: Really? Who was it?!
