The bit I didn't put in the article was that I somehow managed to bruise one of my big toenails doing this route. It was cold, so I couldn't feel the toes that much and have no idea how it happened, particularly as I've never before had problems with my mountains boots. Managed to climb without much discomfort for the rest of the week but upon getting home was unable to put a rock shoe on - disaster! The toe nail proceeded to have an identity crisis and, with a bit of encouragement, decided to strike out in life on its own. Anyone know how long they take to grow back? Anyway, important thing is that I can wear rock shoes again now.
