Im after something that will do for few days on the hills (with the possibility for multiple day hikes) also just getting into my climbing and my gear is starting to bluge out of my old 25ltr day sac so pref will be usful for days on the crags...also cheap as poss (or am i asking too much!!lol)

had the berghaus arete 45l in mind...anyone got one? can i realistically get tent/bag/stove etc into it?

mates got one and loves it, another reckons the padding on the shoulder straps is a bit thin...? I've got a millet prolight 45 which is just ace but i wouldn't have forked out full price, got it off t'inty brand new with tags for 35notes...!

loads of threads about this before but most agree its a top bag...

I've got one. It's alright, but a bit on the small side of 45l. (I know that sounds non-sensical, but I'm sure not all 45l rucksacs are equal!)

I find the back, waist and shoulder straps comfy, but the lid really annoys me. It doesn't cover the top of the bag very well when its full and the pocket in it is really small. You struggle to get an OS map in.
