[Skyler Weekes bouldering in Colorado, USA, 3 kb]The American climber Skyler Weekes is traveling to Sheffield in July for Cliffhanger.


Skyler is an exponent of controlled dynamics - jumping bloody great distances from one hold to another, first practiced properly by the first obsessed boulderer, John Gill.


When Skyler isn't leaping he is a certified Chef of the Wine Arts and an Executive Wine Sommelier. Sounds like he likes a drink!


He's also had facial reconstruction surgery that cost millions caused by....not tasting wine, but by jumping for holds.

In reply to UKC Articles: I heard a sly rumour that an Edinburgh strong-man beat the world record once everyone had packed up and gone home last year. Anyone know the story?

There was indeed a jump higher than the world record after the competition finished, and the man in question doesn't train specifically, he's just strong and naturally talented.
