I am off to northern Spain for summer holidays, would anyone have a copy of the above guidebook that I could buy or know where I could get a copy before travelling to Spain? Also, has anyone been to the crags in the guide? Which are good for summer and have a spread of grades?
Thanks, Pete

In reply to Pete Chadwick: Went to Recuevas last year, was superb - highly recommended. Didn't have the guide you mentioned but a kind spanish climber let us have a look at theirs. I can't remember what other crags were in the guide, sorry.

Topos for the crag can be found here:

In reply to Tris: That, nice as it sounds, it's not quite the Basque Country. Look up Atxarte and Egino, enough to last you a few months if not years. Nearby in Navarra you have Etxauri (close to Pamplona) and in between Dos Hermanas, two limestone towers by the motorway with great lines. Desnivel.com if you have a smattering of Spanish have a crag guide. Lovely climbing in Ogoño, great limestone seacliffs but bird restrictions apply I believe. Txindoki is higher and will be cooler, nice climbing there too.

Smaller, more obscure stuff on the french side (check euskalade.com).

you can expect humid, suffocating heat, and a fair amount of rain if you are not lucky.

I won't mention the Baltzola cave as such stratospheric grades are entirely alien to me!
In reply to Pete Chadwick:

Pete,

I've got a copy, but want to hang on to it. You can order it from desnivel

Hi Pete,
I thought you had written it yourself!
I will see what I can come up with.

Thanks all, I will order a copy from the Desnivel site Stu as its obviously reliable. Yes Martin I've been quite a few times to Onate and Baltzola some years back but not to the other crags and want to find a summer crag/s with a good spread of grades from 6a. Thanks to other respondents, very grateful.
Pete
In reply to Pete Chadwick:

For the summer Atxarte is quite good as it's reasonably high up.

Baltzola is apparently pretty poor in the height of summer, as it suffers from condensation.
