I didn't realise he'd died but there's an obituary by Steve Venables in today's Indy

Gosh, 96 or 97. I was lucky enough to meet him several times while he was still living in Derbyshire.

Another Everest pioneer passes away. Just think how poorer we would have been without his photographs of those memorable events.
