I wondered if anything had recently fallen off the crux section (as I very nearly did) in the groove. It looked as if something might have come off, but hard to tell if if was 6 months or 20 years ago.

I had to make a long pull up off a couple of finger locks and a small, high, block foothold up to a rather inadequate-feeling shiny sidepull and then make another hard move up to the (slightly) better holds above the little roof.

I did it (too) many years ago and it seemed ok then, but I think I may have seen another post, or log book, on here that may suggest your right, or at least not alone in finding it difficult.
